I have the privilege of chairing the Taylor Bennett Foundation (TBF), a charity founded some ten years ago by the inspirational Heather McGregor, then MD of Taylor Bennett the communications recruitment agency.
Heather was fed up with clients, looking for senior corporate communications professionals, asking for a more diverse short list. There was such a lack of diversity coming into the industry, she decided to do something about it and founded the Foundation. TBF has won multiple awards and 97% of graduates who have gone through our flagship programme are now in full-time employment. Our outgoing CEO Sarah Stimson has led the Foundation through major growth and we are now in our strongest position ever, as we continue to work closely with our supporters and partners to achieve the next level of growth. We have ambitious plans and are now searching for a new CEO who shares our passion to continue to improve diversity in the PR industry.
If you would like to know more, drop me a line, look here, or contact Claudia Mair at Taylor Bennett, a trustee of the Foundation and contact for this process.
If being CEO is not for you – there are lots of other ways you can support us and one very easy way is to sponsor me running the Royal Parks Half Marathon, on 14th October: to donate, click here. I have never run that far in my life, but on Saturday (my 46th birthday) I did complete by first Sprint Triathlon and I loved it. So I am fitter than ever and ready to get the miles in…..
