Crisis comms support for a group of independent schools

Client Overview

The Loughborough Schools Foundation (LSF) is made up of five schools that include a nursery and secondary schools. We have worked with the LSF for a number of years helping them with a variety of issues.

Challenge

The LSF asked for our support over changes to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme. We later helped Loughborough Grammar School, one of the five schools in the foundation, after a black pupil raised concerns about his treatment at the school. More recently the LSF wanted help to develop its business continuity plans.

Solution

We prepared information for teachers about changes to the pension scheme. We gave guidance and advice during a period of intense media interest after the racist allegations. Following this a full package of care was put in place for pupils; alongside accelerating some plans, including a curriculum review. And we devised and delivered business continuity training putting senior staff through a challenging scenario of infrastructure changes and mental health issues.

Impact

In each example we gave support and guidance to help the LSF address challenging issues and ensure they are fully equipped to handle change and crises in the future.
