Running a business and running for headspace

I have written extensively about how running has changed my life.  I am delighted that Mel Bound the CEO and Founder of This Mum Runs (TMR) is going to be leading an interactive session at our Spring Forward conference on 24th May, in Bristol.  You can book here.

Mel and I first met this time last year. I had just run the Bristol 10k, something that was utterly unbelievable for me, my friends and family. This Sunday I ran it again and it was brutal, but I shaved 36 seconds off my time from last year and ran the last two km with a new friend, Helen, who I met as we both failed in our attempt to keep up with the 65 min pacer….running brings you such amazing support.

The friendships formed through TMR, the team spirit and the total focus on putting one foot in front of the other; supporting each other to do that, is extraordinary.

On 24th May Mel will share her vision for TMR, how after putting a call out for a running mate and 70 women responding, she is now, through TMR, supporting and encouraging thousands of women every day to get their trainers on and get out of the house.  She’ll talk about the very real challenges of being a female entrepreneur and a woman in business and take questions from the audience on the issues of choice, confidence and culture.

If you are not a runner already this comes with a health warning – you might want to try and you will probably go out and buy trainers.  #sorrynotsorry
